Preschooler classroom: For many young Preschoolers, coming to TLC is their first formal experience in a school setting. Our goal in the Preschooler classroom is to ensure that each child gets the individual attention he/she needs to feel comfortable and secure in their learning environment. We aim to make meaningful connections with each child as they begin their journey at TLC in our small size classrooms (maximum of 7). We focus on establishing a predictable and positive routine for the children with the goal of having them form an early understanding of the classroom schedule and routine. We feel that once children begin to feel comfortable in their new setting among peers and their teachers/caregivers they will feel secure to explore materials and participate in age appropriate concepts. Toddlers work on pro-social skills such as turn-taking, sharing and cooperating with emphasis on empathy and kindness in all aspects of our day.
