We have many goals as educators at TLC Nursery School and place importance on the child as an individual. Our PreK-1 classroom ensures that children are engaged in meaningful activities and actively learning using concrete materials. Priority is placed in fostering each child’s social and emotional development, by giving each child the opportunity to take initiative, experience success in difficult tasks and create our monthly curriculum reflecting the interests of the children in the classroom. We want our PreK-1 to feel good about them-selves and have a positive self concept. Our small classroom sizes allow us to provide a flexible environment that supports each child’s sense of curiosity, creativity and interests while fostering their development in the cognitive, social/emotional, early literacy and physical domains.
